The Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change (UNFCCC) agreed upon a new climate agreement in Paris in December 2015. Greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation targets are entailed in the respective Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) of Parties and will be revised every five years from now on. After Paris, the INDCs will be transformed into nationally determined contributions (NDC). Mitigation efforts at the national level - nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs) - are now the vehicles to deliver (I)NDC of Parties.
The Compendium on GHG Baselines and Monitoring provides a resource map of methodologies, methods and tools for establishing baselines and monitoring emissions reductions from mitigation actions in all IPCC sectors.
